Is WWE Getting Into The Animation Game?

So according to Deadline.com, WWE and Film Roman are teaming up to co-produce and finance what could amount to thirteen webisodes based on WWE Superstars as kids being bad and being sent to Camp WWE. Being sent to this camp will apparently turn these young superstars into model citizens, as Vince McMahon himself runs the camp. And if I’ve ever looked at a guy and said “We’ll there’s a model citizen.” it’s Vinny Mac himself!

According to the article, each Mike Benson (Entourage, The Bernie Mac Show) penned webisode is slated to be roughly threewwe__131104150119-200x140 minutes in length, or roughly the length of a typical Brooklyn Brawler match. WWE has been juggernauts in the past when it comes to marketing their product, but will a TV-14 based online show go over well in the new, TV-PG world of televised wrestling? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this will turn out more like the XFL than the original “ECW One Night Stand.” But then again, Film Roman is involved and they’ve got the body of work to make this a success. When a team can claim both The Simpsons AND King Of The Hill on their resume, safe bettors would be smart to wager.

But seriously, I’m calling this one. It’s gonna tank.
