Where are they now?? Writers from popular cartoons are doing other things…

After the jump, we have snippets of stories for Simpsons and Family Guy staff  (past and present) doing other projects that are coming up with in the next year or so. Check it out after the jump, and let us know which one YOU think is most promising. 

 

Its always cool to get up to date with random former toon staffers/creators so lets see what peeps are working on, yea??

First up,  former Simpsons writer Billy Kimball will lead a new network partnership between ABCNews and Univision as  senior vice president and chief programming officer according to an article from The Hollywood Reporter. As mentioned Billy is a former Simpsons guy but he has also worked with such comedy heavyweights as the great Denis Leary and Al Franken. Not sure if this means that the new joint-venture channel will produce any comedies, but it will be interesting to see what fruits come from this loom.

Universal Studios has made on a bunch of Family Guy dudes in the past, so it probably isn’t strange to see the huge company pick up from another dude from the popular series. Enter Andrew Goldberg. According to Deadline.com, Andrew has sold a new pitch to Universal  about a guy who gets dumped before his wedding and takes his best man on the unrefundable honeymoon his ex-fiance planned. I probably won’t see this, but I guarantee Paul Rudd is in this.

We mentioned Josh Weinstein (ex-Simpsons) a few weeks ago as he was talking about why Futurama got canceled whilst promoting his new UK kids show Strange Hill High.  According to BroadcastNow by way of comedy.UK, Josh is looking into getting an adult animated series off the ground with BBC. Obviously, its at early still, but its good to see the Brits putting up a fight despite what happened with our homies over at Full English.

A big story came out that FOX has showed off the new live-action series from Ted guys Seth MacFarlane, Wellesly Wild, and Alec Sulkin featuring Gionanni Ribisi (Ted) and Seth Green (Robot Chicken) as your stars of the show. The show is set to air this Fall on FOX and you can see a trailer here.

 

Finally,  Deadline.com is reporting that Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge just got a new live action dark comedy series called Silicon Valley picked up at HBO.  No word yet as to when the show is airing, but when we do it might spell the end of any new Beavis coming out besides the already produced ones from the most recent season.
