Watch the first ‘Moonbeam City’ trailer posted in over a year…and being worth the wait

Normally I would just absolutely DESTROY a TV show for making me wait a fucking year before I saw any more footage, but I gotta admit, this new trailer for Moonbeam City was worth the wait.

For those that don’t know, Moonbeam City is a new animated series set to premier in 2015 starring Rob Lowe as ‘Dazzle Novak’, Will Forte as ‘Rod Cunningham’, and Elizabeth Banks as ‘Pizzaz Miller’, Moonbeam City follows an undercover detective (Lowe) trying to win back the affection of his chief (Pizzaz) all the while staving off a hot shot rookie (Forte). The series is being produced by Titmouse Studios and Olive Branch Entertainment.

The new trailer is fantastic, and somehow Dazzle Novak is dumber than Sterling Archer. I make that comparison, because there are those of you out there that feel these are similar shows, but I’m starting to see the separation. For starters, I think a smaller cast will lend itself for bigger stories for Moonbeam City, and from the looks of things the show may even be sexier than Archer which I didn’t think was possible.

The new series debuts September 16th @ 10:30 pm ET/PT, after an all-new South Park.
