Review: The Cleveland Show “Wheel! Of! Family!”

Spoilers Below

The Brown-Tubbs family need help in raising their kids. They decide to enlist Robert Tubbs, and both Cleveland and Donna’s parents to help out. Freight Train starts by introducing Junior to lifting weights at the Y versus baking cakes at the ‘Kay, Kay, Cakes’. Robert and Dee Dee start handling Rallo and Big Momma takes care of Roberta’s lady parts. Unfortunately, Freight Train walks in to Junior doing up a pole dancing class and he’s quickly being quite the popular one with the old ladies, all of which sounds like a bad idea to Freight Train. However, that’s not the worst of it…not when Cleveland and Rallo walk into Dee and Roberta doing a rendition of pole-dancing of their own!

Cleveland comes home to tell Donna what happened and she FREAKS out! Turns out Robert has been into Dee Dee for a number of years and it isn’t long before they start to take a liking to each other. D0nna blames Cleveland for everything and it gets even worse when he sets up a clash between the Browns and DeeBert (like it??).  Meanwhile, Robert and Dee Dee adopt a Chinese baby and Junior’s former pole-dancing buddies try to woo him back to practice in time for a competition. Back at the house, Rallo throws down with the Chinese baby named Kwang-Kwang and Dee Dee and Robert choose Donna and Cleveland as the god-parents. Cleveland seems to be ok with it, byu Cleveland not so much.

At the pole-dance regionals, Freight Train shows up to try and save his grandson but soon he starts to warm to Junior because he’s so good at it. Back at the ceremony, Robert and Dee Dee don’t show up as they are learning about being parents all over again. The ceremony commences and Kwang Kwang is now Hong Kong Phooey.

If this is the last The Cleveland Show then so be it, I’m glad it ended with a Hong Kong Phooey finish. When we do the Season Review next we will go into more detail, but this show has always left us with threads of possible plots that would and could be very funny! I mean, it would have been great to see Phooey and Rallo go at it a few more episodes and also to see how Dee Dee and Robert would have unfolded, but alas we are talking possible about the end. I do think that Junior being a pole dancer was one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen, but his story with Freight Train was funny nonetheless. Cleveland and Donna were pretty funny tonight, especially Donna during her temper tantrum and when Cleveland was all gung ho about the named ceremony. I do hope these guys move back up to Quahog, but we will have to wait and see.
