Our Take

While the heart of the episode “Slink or Swim” is about Carl attempting to conceal a particular lie which Bobby eventually finds out, the bond between both brothers becomes more of a “Quid pro quo” scenario as Bobby wants to learn a particular skill in return that part of me feels bad that he never learned at such older age. Of course, the biggest running joke that’s frequently used is one stolen from the 80’s classic Caddyshack involving the infamously iconic “candy bar” scene, that’s mostly build-up to a disgusting low-brow punchline at the end.

As for the other episode “The Big Chill” Was a short and simple story about raising money for a legit purpose, but the ending kinda displayed the level of intelligence and ingenuity Ronnie has when it comes to finds a solution to the problem that was right in front of her the whole time…

What almost comes across as the Hispanic equivalent to “The Loud House” is thankfully differentiated by having its own Identity and finds ways to further distance itself as it’s own show despite taking place in the same universe. So while not perfect, it’s welcoming that they put forth the effort in making many of the jokes stand out, even if one joke, in particular, was stolen from an 80’s golf-comedy involving Bill Murray trying to murder a Gopher Puppet that most people don’t remember…
