Review: Pickle and Peanut “Cookie Racket / Busted Arm”

Cookie Racket

Delicious cookies made by Pickle are all the rage, but the local Girl Scout-like troops aren’t happy with someone else infringing their turf. As a result, the demonic children make the town scared, trash Pickle’s house, and steals his grandma’s recipe book which holds the cookie recipes. Problem is the girls can’t get the mixture right, but when Pickle and Peanut show up a bake off takes place and the guys win, but Pickle lets the girls know what his cookies are made of always…love.

Our Take

Who doesn’t love cookies? I love cookies. I think Girl Scouts going evil for cookies has been done before however, complete with the ‘territories’, but all of the grandma scenes were so oft-putting that the show kinda made the story line their’s. Plus, when love becomes the basic ingredient for said cookies, the show starts to showcase a sweetness that isn’t always there, but totally is on display here.

Busted Arm

Pickle breaks his arm doing something silly and gets a whole lot of attention with people wanting to sign it and girls with bikinis all over the place. Peanut gets jealous so he breaks his leg, but when the two go to the amusement park to ride some rides, no one lets them on as a result of the injuries. Not one to take no for an answer, Peanut goes on the rides anyway which makes him even more hurt and pretty much turns him into a Squidbillie. 

Our Take

Again, casts have been done before, but I’m blown away with how much this show gets away with from the Disney censors. Half-naked ladies and rabid mongooses are here, and yes Peanut is definitely a Squidbillie at the end, tentacles and all.
