Review: Maggie Simpson in “Rogue Not Quite One”
Overview
On their way to daycare, Homer loses track of Maggie who hops in Grogu’s hovering pram for a hyperspace-hopping adventure across the galaxy. Facing a squadron of imperial TIE fighters, Maggie brings the battle to Springfield in this epic short celebrating all things Star Wars.
Our Take
There are no BIG voice cameos in this four-minute short, but I think I prefer that. In fact, there isn’t a lot of dialogue at all with the producers instead following the pathos of Maggie’s usually silent nature and imbuing that in a Star Wars short that featured nods to most of the films and even the TV shows that may actually be better than some of the movies.
That said, this short from The Simpsons has everything you want, even some poking satire at the head studios on lack of real estate on the streamer. The action sequences were out-of-control, and Maggie is cute-as-the-dickens.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
