Review: Archer “Heart of Archness” Part 1 of 3

Heeeeeeeeee’s baaaaaaack!!!  That’s right you jerks, Archer is back and he’s ready for action…well, not quite.

Crime better watch it’s ass because Archer is back and better then ever with a strong season premiere. And if this episode is any indication of what’s to come both in the next couple weeks and come January, it’s going to be a great season.

 SPOILERS BELOW

Malory hires an adventurer named Rip Riley(played by Patrick Warburton) to go bring back Archer who is on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. But. when Rip tries to save him Archer refuses to leave as he is still “grieving” the loss of his dead fiance who was killed right in front of him.

Patrick Warburton is absolutely spot-on playing as former ISIS agent Rip Riley and plays off of Jon Benjamin(Archer) quite well.  The best is their bantering on the plane and in the raft floating in the ocean. Then would you know it they get picked up by pirates(one of which is being played by David Cross) .

Back at ISIS HQ we see Malory using all of her resources(including a fifth of Scotch) to help her track down Archer. And when she finally tracks him down the crew fly out on a private jet, whilst being pampered by waiters. All good stuff but I thought the banter between Malory and  Biblo was hysterical and to be honest hitting a little close to home…

The episode ends on the pirate island with Archer killing the pirate lord and taking over as the new “king”. Now we are back to square one of Rip having to coerce Archer to come home(which will be harder than it sounds).
