‘Panda Bear’ Releases Psychedelic Animated Video for “Boys Latin”

Noah “Panda Bear” Lennox, founding member of the experimental band Animal Collective, has released an animated music video for his newest track, “Boys Latin.”

Directed by Isaiah Saxon and Sean Hellfritsch of Encyclopedia Pictura, the video illustrates Panda’s psychedelic sound with two characters’ trippy journeys through a sea anemone portal. I can practically taste the shrooms right now.

“The anemone is the agent of change,” said Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember, producer for Panda Bear, on an Animal Collective fan message board. “The figures in the video touch the anemone to begin the process of transformation. So in the context of the album, the anemone represents the reaper.” Far out.

“Boys Latin” is the second single (after “Mr. Noah”) off Panda Bear’s upcoming album, “Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper,” which is slated for a January 13, 2015 release.
