NBC wants a look at ‘Bumbleberry Lane’

NBC

Said to be in the vein of Greg the Bunny and Avenue Q, Bumbleberry Lane is a pilot from Gary Janetti (Family Guy) . According to Deadline.com, Bumbleberry Lane is set behind the scenes of a racially diverse, politically correct children’s puppet program where everyone and everything is incredibly, politically incorrect. It’s described as a big ensemble comedy in which a group of misfits working at a public television children’s show try to prevent their messy personal lives from spilling over into their jobs, sometimes resulting in puppets behaving badly. The R-rated show behind the G-rated show.

A put pilot commitment has been ordered by NBC, and if ordered to series, Bumbleberry Lane and The Muppets will surely showcase that puppet comedies are indeed back. That said, don’t be thinking either of these shows are mere images of each other. Instead, Bumbleberry Lane is going after a more adult crowd ala Family Guy whereas The Muppets is for the whole family.

This comes off the back of the NBC Prez threatening to bring back Alf.
