“Tie Fighter,” a short film by Paul Johnson, takes one of the most iconic aspects in Star Wars history, and gives it a fresh coat of hyperdetailed 80’s anime. Seriously, if you watch the video, and don’t get a huge urge to watch Robotech, Gundam, Heavy Metal, or Akira, I don’t think you are the right demographic for this. “Tie Fighter” is one the most beautiful fan video I have ever seen, and blows away anything on television right now.

The music is a far cry from the normal John Williams orchestral soundtrack you’re used to hearing, but that’s nothing to shy away from. Zak Rahman adds to the 80’s vibe by throwing some wicked guitar work into the video. Everything melds together into a feast for the eyes and ears. Just peep the video beloe, and see for yourself.
