FXX to Air Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” Marathon on October 26th

As we all hoped, the end of FXX’s 12-day Simpsons marathon didn’t mean the end of binge-watching opportunities on the channel.

Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO of FXX, announced that the next big event will be a full-day marathon of “Treehouse of Horror” Halloween specials slated to air on Sunday, October 26th.

The network will show all 24 of the spooky three-part shows beginning at noon EDT and lasting until midnight, with 72 segments in total.

FXX says more themed marathons will air next year, but none are likely to match the massiveness of this summer’s – a statement that smashed my previous dream of them just continuing the “Every Simpsons Ever Marathon” until the end of time.

“I’m not sure if we’ll do another one. I think that needs to be a very special and sacred event,” Saftler said.

Although there is a glimmer of hope, as the COO added that he wouldn’t be surprised if another full marathon occurred at some point in the future. The only problem is that FXX doesn’t currently have the rights to do it again.
