English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “The Blade Is Me”

Overview:

Ichigo learns that he is the child born of a Soul Reaper and a Quincy. Finally understanding the truth behind his heritage, Ichigo decides to return to Hoohden with a renewed resolve to finish what he has started.

Our Take:

I could have been too engrossed watching these thirteen episodes to notice so please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember hearing much of the classic Bleach soundtrack in this. That all changed in this episode when Ichigo got his new Zanpakuto and we were blasted with “Number One” which always lets you know when shit was about to get real. Made me get so hyped and now I don’t want to wait for the second cour.

Turns out there was actually a reason that Zangetsu and Ywhach look so similar. It was Ichigo’s latent Quincy powers showing in his sword. But now he is ready to move on and get to some ass-kicking (I hope).

This is going to be a hard wait for the second cour of this. I finally got to finish the original series and every episode has been fantastic. Not only that but one of my greatest fears has seemingly come true, and Uryu might have just joined the Quincys. I mean it makes sense since he is one but I was hoping that his relationship with Ichigo might have changed things a little bit. All I know is July can’t get here fast enough and I hope we get more and more Bleach for as long as we can.
