DVD REVIEW: ‘REGULAR SHOW’S “The Best DVD in the World (At This Moment in Time) “

Warner Home Video releases select episodes of Regular Show from Seasons 2 and 3 for a home release, but is the collection worth the asking price? Find out after the jump!

A couple months back we reviewed the ‘Slack Pack’ DVD release and similarily this package comes with 16 episodes selected from Seasons 2 and 3. As a result if you are someone who has NEVER seen the Regular Show, this may be a great way to start familiarizing with the outstanding animated series from the mind of JG Quintel. For those who don’t know, Regular Show follows the comedic exploits of two twenty-something best buds named Mordecai and Rigby of whom have to wake up in the morning and go to work at the local park and hope to do a fair enough job as to not to piss of their boss Benson. During the course of the show we are typically joined by park prankster Muscle Man with his best pal High Five Ghost not too far behind. Throw in the out of this world exploits of park groundskeeper Skips and you have a show with a lot of ingredients put together that usually goes down smooth.

That said, in terms of a home release this DVD doesn’t offer THAT much in value. Yea, you get to catch up on a bunch of episodes but you could just as easily just watch Cartoon Network of which typically shows repeats every single day allowing you to catch up as well as anyone. Granted, you get commercials when you do it that way but you also save the $13 it would cost to purchase the DVD. I would maybe recommend this release for the completionist looking to add to their collection or someone of whom is a fan of the show wanting to give a cheap under $20 Secret Santa gift. Other than that, there are no real extra features here to warrant the purchase and as such really provides no extra value.
