Disney Channel’s “Amphibia” To Get Long-Awaited Season Two Finale

The airing of Amphibia season two’s finale has been a mess this month. Originally slated to premiere May 2nd, the 24-minute episode was delayed due to some sort of scheduling shift (producer Matt Braly says this one might be too spooky for the youngins) so the network delayed the premiere. Problem is, somebody forgot to tell iTunes because the episode was made available via e-tailers leading to a huge uproar among fans and producers alike.

In the upcoming season two finale entitled “True Colors”, the gang travels to Newtopia to say their goodbyes and finally send all three girls home. However, someone has other plans. It’s being rumored that Polly gets her legs this episode in what is rumored to be a very in depth send off that will reward longtime fans.

Amphibia’s season two finale premieres May 22nd @ 8 pm ET/PT, only on Disney Channel, check your local listings.

Our Take

Amphibia has already been ordered for a third season, however, this is typical Disney shenanigans. This sounds like shades of Gravity Falls for sure, and I hope the network can get out of it’s streaming ass and get it’s act together sooner rather than later.

Synopsis:

Inspired by creator and executive producer Matt Braly’s heritage, family and childhood trips to Bangkok, Thailand, Disney’s animated series chronicles the adventures of independent and fearless teen Anne Boonchuy after she is magically transported to a rural marshland full of frog people. There, Anne meets the excitable young frog Sprig Plantar; unpredictable pollywog Polly Plantar, the youngest member of the Plantar family; and overprotective and traditional grandfather Hop Pop. Stuck in this fantastical world of amphibians, Anne quickly bonds with the adventurous Sprig and discovers the true meaning of friendship.
