Dish Network and Sinclair Broadcasting negotiations lead to blackouts; Still no Retrans Agreement

Dish Network and Sinclair Broadcasting had a brief blackout of about 150 channels yesterday after the two couldn’t come to an agreement over a retransmission deal. Even the FCC proved to be useful, as Chairman Tom Wheeler was said to have stepped in and called for an end to the blackout, and for both sides to return to the meeting table and work shit out.

What Dish subscribers got, was the return of their services, but there is still no retransmission deal intact with Sinclair and Dish network. As a matter of fact, we found out that Sinclair is hoping to buy a TV affiliate, and that fees had nothing to do with the standoff.
