Comedy Central names new Prez…what does this mean for Cartoons?

Hopefully it means longer lasting shows…

I’ve always enjoyed news from Comedy Central more than other networks, because Kent Alterman has some funny one-liners when he comments on a show being picked up or renewed. Looks like we could be getting more of that as Deadline broke the story the other day that Kent Alterman is now the President of Comedy Central taking over for Michele Ganeless.

Michele was instrumental in making South Park a cultural phenomenon, but since then not one other animated comedy on Comedy Central has made it past three seasons other than South Park, but the network still produces a ton of it with plans for more on the way. Hopefully, Kent can continue this trend, and potentially find some intellectual properties that can stick around for a while.
