You would be hard-pressed to find an animation studio who had as good of a year as Bento Box in 2013. Bob’s Burgers, Brickleberry, and The Awesomes are all examples of animated series’ that Bento produces and every one of them have had multiple seasons ordered for renewal by their respected networks. On top of that, Bento Box had made an announcement last year that it was getting into producing its own original content and it looks as though the fruits of that labor have JUST started to come to fruition.

According to Deadline.com, Comedy Central has ordered a new pilot from Bento Box called Legends, an urban animated comedy centering on a trio of high school basketball players who are legends in their own minds – and really, nowhere else. Freshmen benchwarmers and friends Jamal, Grover and Milk try and mostly fail to make an impression at Bluford High, whether it’s on the court or with the ladies.

The new pilot comes the co-creators of MTV’s Good Vibes, Mike Clements and Brad Ableson and will introduce sports producers Quinn Hawking (ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL Network) and Josiah Johnson (NFL Network, Jim Rome On Showtime) as well as writer Michael Starburry (The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete). Quinn and Josiah will be pulling double-duty on the pilot with not only producing, but also voicing characters with Quinn taking Jamal and Josiah taking Grover and Milk.

If any of you kids don’t know what Good Vibes is, I suggest you get onto Netflix right fucking now and watch that shit, because that show could have been one of the greats had it aired on any other network.

Update: I was just informed that Netflix no longer carries Good Vibes as part of Viacom leaving Flix for Amazon. However, MTV.com DOES have all of the episodes available for streaming.
