‘ANGRY BIRDS’ ANIMATED SERIES ON THE WAY?
According to Deadline.com, Rovio(the creators of the Angry Birds suite of games) is debuting a new animated series next fall. The episodes are said to be between 2-4 minutes long but there is no word yet as to which network(if any) will be debuting the series.
My question is…do people still play Angry Birds? I’ll be honest I did see someone wearing an Angry Birds hat the other day outside so I guess some people do. Also, I am curious to see what the target audience is here. Think about it, Angry Birds was a mobile game to start with that was available on both Android and iOS devices…if the target audience is between the ages of 6-11 would THEY be the ones playing the the popular mobile game while watching the series? How many kids in the 6-11 age range have iPhones or Droids?
From 1997 to 2006 there was a show on Nick called Angry Beavers and although it was on during the day it drew comparisons to Ren & Stimpy and Rocko’s Modern Life. Why do I bring this up? Not sure, but I do know that show is already better than this lame attempt to cash in on the Angry Birds craze. You want some angry animals? Leave it to Beavers…
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
