BONGO COMICS REVIEW: Simpsons Super Spectacular #15

Radioactive Man welcomes guest artist Frank Brunner (Doctor Strange) for a twisted and tyrannical trans-dimensional tale! When Radioactive Man’s fellow Superior Squad member Plasmo the Mystic goes missing, the Irradiated Crusader must travel across time and space to rescue the supernatural spellcaster. Then, a new, all-girl, superhero team, The Nerds of Prey (Jessica Lovejoy, Sherri and Terri, and Greta Wolfcastle), spring into action under the watchful eye and technological savvy of a secretive Lisa Simpson with one goal in mind — rescuing Bartman from the clutches of the Cat Lady Woman. Enhanced with a spectacular cover by Hilary Barta.

NERDS OF PREY

Bartman is being held hostage so Lisa turns into her own alter-ego “Four Eyes” and summons a bunch of other Springfield’s superheroines to come to the rescue. With powers ranging from screaming like a girl(Martin) to powerful brand endorsement the team comes together just in the nick of time to save Bart from the evil clutches of Crazy Cat Lady. Yep, Bartman was saved by a bunch of girls!

SORCERY MOST FOUL

An action packed story featuring Radioactive Man as he has to set off in an alternate universe to save Plasmo from the evil clutches of Tah-Dah. However, as we learn, big heroes come in small packages(especially when wielding a mean right hook to the knockers). I could tell you that everything goes back to normal therein after but then I’d be a ‘ducking’ liar.

I love Radioactive Man shit, as its always a great way to break up any sort of monotony you might get in reviewing Simpsons Comics. This issue is no different as the artwork was outstanding and the plot had more twists then a package of Twizzlers. Nerds of Prey was a decent effort, but there’s a good reason why the old WB show Birds of Prey was cancelled, as the winner this issue is clearly beaming with subatomic energy. A definite buy!
