#8 of Animated Shows That Should Come Back

For the most part I can’t stand reality shows. They just plain stink. Admittedly, there are a few I watch like Storage Wars, and Kitchen Nightmares(which is on tonight) but I don’t care for the shows that involve like a house where a bunch of random people live together and do dumb shit.  But, what if you didn’t have a choice? What if you were Drawn Together?

Indeed, the only show deemed worthy enough to pair up with South Park on Comedy Central’s Wednesday nights, Drawn Together pitted a bunch of outrageous characters inspired from different universes in one house, where week after week every reality show got a kick in the ass. Everyone, from American Idol, The Apprentice, Iron Chef, and Real World all took their beatings and you have to wonder that with shows with the likes of Pawn Stars, Jersey Shore, and X Factor, that there would be no shortage of ammo for future episodes.

Let’s talk about the characters for a minute. Was there ever a show out there that had about as eclectic as a cast as Drawn Together? You had Wooldoor Sockbat, a character whose family had been victim of a vicious extermination. You had Spanky Ham, voiced by the awesome Adam Corolla, who tricks the Pokemon inspired Ling-Ling into being his loyal servant. And if I haven’t given Disney a beating enough today, you had Princess Clara who was basically every cunt princess(i.e. Ariel from Little Mermaid) rolled into one, who was prejudice against gays and was an oft-minded racist. Absolutely, classic.

So should this show come back? Well, after its cancellation the creators of the show(Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein) would go on and help Mike Judge produce “The Goode Family” a show about a family of environmentalists with OCD. Well, that show got cancelled too(from ABC, sound familiar?), which then led to the creation of a feature film released exclusively on DVD @ Best Buy. Could that have been an attempt similar to the Futurama and Family Guy deal where if enough copies sold, we might get a reboot? I hope so, because I can’t fucking stand that show “Intervention” and someone should do something about it.
