Comics Review: Adventure Time #38

Adventure Time #38 starts out right where #37 ends, and all of Ooo has forgotten how to cook. The human guinea pig known as Finn, is shrunken down and goes inside Jake to find out how he can create sandwiches. However, things definitely go awry when the sandwich denizens inside Jake go rabid after the jewel heist.

The guys at Kaboom! really have their stuff on point. The artists in the untitled story have managed to make each panel look like animation stills from the show. Not many comics based on animated shows have been able to do that. In my opinion, you have to be able to either make it look like the show, or make it your own like Regular Show does. These comics are fantastic, and for their own reasons. The story and art in Adventure Time could be an episode.

The short, “The Worst Day” was very entertaining as well, and actually captured Marceline. It was a great short story, and it had a pretty cool twist at the end. Couple that with the main story, I think you have a great book, and is $3.99 well spent.
