Review: The 7D “Big Bad Sneezy / Cat on a Hot Grim Roof”

Spoilers Below

“Big Bad Sneezy

Sneezy decides to leave town because his sneezes cause all sorts of issue with the downtown area. He decides to leave and while on his way out he comes to meet the Big Bad Wolf whom is trying to destroy the houses belonging to the three pigs. Yep, no matter what the house is made of, Sneezy is able to blow it down. After the Big Bad Wolf destroys the pig houses, he decides to concentrate his efforts on Little Red Riding Hood.  The 7D shows up JUST in time to stop Sneezy before he can destroy Red Riding Hood’s house. The dwarves catch Riding Hood before she heads to her trap and they team up to get rid of the Big Bad Wolf. Sneezy returns to fix up the houses belonging to the pigs while the Big Bad Wolf gets chased around by a T-Rex.

Our Take

I love it when the series does really off-the-cuff type stuff like this. As a matter of fact, I could watch a whole show about the Christopher Walken-esque Big Bad Wolf doing a number of different things to capture his prey ala the Wile E. Coyote. We got to see the whole gamut of Big Bad Wolf lore with Riding Hood and the pigs and I was loving every minute of it. I’d like to see this show continue to expand on classic fairy tales being incorporated into this world and I hope it’s something that happens a couple of times per season. We have a few more episodes airing this season, it’ll be interesting to see where the series goes from here.

Cat on a Hot Grim Roof”

Hildy wants a black cat, so her husband heads to the shelter to adopt one. Unfortunately, the shelter only has a bunch of white kitties and at first Hildy can’t stand the idea of owning white cats, so she ends up taking one at a time and throwing them each out of the house. Fortunately, each of them return unharmed but Hildy orders Grim to find a black cat…or else! Grim decides to give each of the seven cats to each of the 7D. Dopey gets a hold of the cats and decides to keep them away from his hombres for fear of rebuttal. Eventually, they get out, and Grumpy’s chasing all over for them to no avail, but the other D comes by and finds out about Dopey’s feline friends. Grim returns to the castle with a black cat and Hildy makes sure to shove it RIGHT in Snazzy’s face. Turns out, this cat used to be Snazzy’s because SHE’s looking for the seven white cats that all are said to have magical powers when they turn seven weeks.

Our Take

Cats are the ‘in’ thing right now on the internet, but you don’t see a bunch of animated shows really get into them all that often. You probably see more dogs than you see cats which is odd because print cartoons were definitely more cat-heavy at one-time or another. In any case, I like it when Snazzy and Hildy go at it, and poor Grim has to go out of his way just to satisfy his wife. All this for a kiss? Jeez, I wonder what Grim has to do if he wants more than that!
