As we all know this is Futurama’s last season on Comedy Central and yea we are all pissed and I know some of you guys are trying to save it which is awesome, but do we have some answers on why the show was canceled for fucking begin with??  Well former Simpsons and Futurama writer Josh Weinstein was recently in an interview with the BBCNews in which he was asked what happened with the show. He had this to say about the cancellation of the popular animated series after seven seasons when its all said and done:

“It comes down to a decision about money,” he says. “It’s a really expensive show to do with such careful animation that’s very expensive, and there’s a lot of cheaper animation being done.

“Also, our ratings were just so-so. If we had really good ratings we’d probably be still going. So I understand it, I’m not overjoyed.”

Yea folks, Futurama is like its cousin The Simpsons, hand-drawn which is quite a bit more expensive and typically a longer process then say Flash. That said, Josh was hopeful that Futurama would return on another network:

“It always comes back. But it might be years in between.”

You can read the rest of the article from the link above as its an interview with Josh as he is promoting his new kids series set to debut on BBC. FYI to Josh, BBC also is not a huge fan of shows that cost money nor ones that are funny.

Next, the great Tara Strong is set to guest star as a potential new love interest for Bender. The episode is set to air on Comedy Central on Wednesday August 28th @ 10pm EST. Tara is a fantastic voice actress and is super hot so I would imagine its going to be difficult for Bender to thwart HER advances.

Finally, more good news is that Comedy Central has a new clip up for the Season premier of Futurama set to air June 19th @ 10pm EST as part of a one hour premier. As part of the lead up, Comedy Central will be doing a countdown to the premier according to a press release that said:

The “Countdown To ‘Futurama’” has officially kicked off on Facebook– every day for 50 days, the network will release a new piece of exclusive content including preview clips, character designs, episode stills, prop art and more.

Yep, Futurama returns to Comedy Central with an all new episode Wednesday June, 19th @ 10pm EST, check your local listings! Check out a new trailer below!
