English Dub Review: Viral Hit “A Tight Feeling in the Chest”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Hobin’s intimidation tactics don’t go exactly as planned, so he’s forced to fall back on movies he perfected for previous fights without Samdak’s guiding voice booming around his head to get him through.

Our Take:
Well, Hobin had something going there: having to use brains instead of brawn to defeat the Comedy Crew.  But that one mistake is enough for him to rely on his fighting skills to protect himself.  The previous episode showcased that Hobin’s fearfulness led him to explore other methods of handling bullies, even if they don’t work as planned.  It showed that Hobin differentiates from his tormentors regarding his good nature.  However, that might have changed in this episode, with Hobin experiencing a sense of adrenaline while confronting the Comedy Crew.  At first, Hobin thought it was due to his extreme fear of getting killed or letting anything terrible happen to Bomi.  But, as it turns out, Hobin is growing dangerously obsessed with fighting.
Of course, this feeling might prove to be Hobin’s downfall, as he finds himself facing against the final opponent of the season.  Unfortunately, this massive “bully”, Mangi Hwang, is way more dangerous than Taehun.  Mangi is a professional Ssireum wrestler who is also a straight-up pervert for chasing after women, including Bomi.  He’s even strong enough to brutalize anyone who interferes.  I swear this show keeps coming up with supporting characters who are popular enough to be jailed for life.  I initially thought that Taehun would be the top dog likely to be imprisoned for his despicable acts of violence.  However, it appears that Mangi may have taken that spot due to his actions toward Bomi.  Forget jail.  Mangi deserves to be placed in a mental asylum.
Unsurprisingly, Samdak’s channel is clueless about how to beat a sumo wrestler like a regular person, so Hobin must rely on some additional help to learn new techniques.  That extra help is surprisingly none other than Taehun, who agrees to teach Hobin to use taekwondo.  This surprising conclusion to this penultimate episode sets up the final confrontation that’s sure to jack up the ratings for the season.  In addition to the Comedy Crew getting their just desserts in the first act, “A Tight Feeling in the Chest” has me feeling that next week’s finale will pack quite a punch.
