English Dub Review: Migi & Dali “Upside-Down Woman”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Reiko, cornered by Migi and Dali, finally begins to speak about Metry, the mother of Migi and Dali. It turns out to be the story of their birth as well…

Our Take:
As the series draws close to its conclusion, more secrets of the twins’ past continue to unravel. Eiji was responsible for accidentally killing Metry, but it was Reiko’s twisted secret that surprised me the most. The previous episode showcased Reiko’s true colors as a mentally deranged psycho-bitch obsessed with having a perfect family, even going as far as stealing a child from her parents. However, she has another secret to reveal involving the twins’ mother in the form of a story about the “devil”. Although, from the looks of it, Reiko is more of a devil herself than Metry.
It’s revealed that Reiko and Metry were once friends after a young and shy Metry came to work for her as a maid. Unfortunately, that all changed when Reiko tasked Metry to have sex with her husband Akira when she couldn’t bear any children. Seeing that Akira fell in love with Metry made Reiko become mentally insane. It also resulted in Metry giving birth to not two but three children, meaning that Eiji is actually Migi and Dali’s long-lost triplet brother, whom Reiko took away to raise as her own. But that’s not the only crazy thing this “mother” has done. She also trapped the twins, Akira, Maruta, and Karen in the hidden room so she could escape with Eiji. Thankfully, it didn’t take Eiji long to kill Reiko and set the house on fire.
Because of this, Eiji has freed himself from the lie he lived in for years. However, it comes with the cost of putting himself and the others in danger of sharing the same fate as Reiko. How will they escape this inescapable situation now that the devil is vanquished by her own son? With only two episodes left in the series, anything could happen. This is still one heck of a roller coaster regarding its surprises, even if the impact continues to become softened by its flawed English dub.
