English Dub Review: Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury “Unrelenting Tenderness”

Overview:

Piloting the Calibarn, Suletta confronts Ericht head-on. Guel squares off against Lauda, burning with bitter hatred for Miorine. And amid the chaos of battle, a rocket carrying Miorine and the others makes its way to Quiet Zero.

Our Take:

Well, this has all escalated really quickly, we got sister vs sister and brother vs brother. We have some potential deaths incoming but most of those will probably happen in the series finale next week. One thing I really appreciate about this series is how it shows how difficult fighting in space would probably be. Sure, I know in this it’s because of how the permet link is affecting them but I can imagine that fighting in outer space would be equally difficult.

Elnora and Eri are just trying to live in peace but the way they are going about is indicative of anything but that. One of the only things that was mildly frustrating was that when things finally seemed to be going well a new threat emerges and they basically have a Death Star. Eri might have been destroyed to save everyone but we will find out next episode. I thought I had everyone’s loyalties straight but I guess not.
