English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “The Idle Beauty”

Overview:

Wang Ling and crew welcome a new student to their class. Meanwhile, an old flame of Mr. Wang’s is back and just so happens to be an assassin. Not just any assassin either, she is the sister of imprisoned Shadow Faction leader, Jiang Liuying.

Our Take:

I don’t even know how to approach what happens in this show a lot of the time. But as you know I am a big fan of romance and any way that can get more involved I am all for it. We learned that when Wang Ling defeated Froggy all those years ago it had bigger implications than we knew. Though now I am pretty interested to see what Mr. Wang was up to all those years ago since he was dating an assassin! Also, I’m not one to nitpick but airplanes shaped like Chinese longswords are a bit weird to me. Par for the course in this world I suppose.

Wang Ling keeps staring at Sun Rong and I can’t quite tell if she and Wang have a past at all since the time change situation. Does she know anything? Does she still have feelings for him like before? Who knows, I would kind of like to focus on them a little more, but I love an episode with a happy ending so sign me up for more.
