English Dub Review: Shinobi no Ittoki “Crafters and Users”

Overview:

With a ninja tools exam approaching, Ittoki is desperate to find a way to pass. Meanwhile, in an effort to fish for intel on Koga, Tokisada pays a visit to Saiga village.

Our Take:

Forget Harry Potter and that school of Witchcraft and Wizardry I want to go to a ninja school. You get a super cool ninja suit, and ninja gear, and apparently all the girls want to hang out with you. I am kind of kidding about that last part but when it comes to anime that is the way these things tend to go.

Ittoki has a test about ninja tools to pass and he wants to try to pass the normal way. Psshhh what a nerd right? He’s going to a ninja school and doesn’t think to use ninja tools to try and steal the answers to the test. Good thing he has friends who can point him in the right direction.

This show has been fun and while it plays off of a lot of the typical tropes you see I still think it has merit and is enjoyable. My biggest issue is the runtime. I have no idea where the plot is going to end up going and I have watched enough twelve-episode anime to know that this might not get a very satisfying ending. Unless for some reason there is a planned second season I haven’t heard about I am a bit concerned about that but right now that isn’t the case.
