English Dub Review: Girlfriend, Girlfriend “Can’t Wait for the Hot Springs”

Overview

As a way to clear the air after Rika forcibly kissed Naoya, Saki, and Nagisa decide to go on vacation in a hot spring…

Our Take

This time around, we get a lot of bonding between the three in this episode, especially, when they were holding hands as they go to a Hot Spring Resort. Naoya then proceeds to flaunt his harem to the whole public, without shame knowing they aren’t in their hometown. The fact they put so much romantic value into holding hands makes me ask “what are they? Fundies?”

At a later point during the proceedings, Rika out of nowhere found the place and made everything worse. So now we can add stalking and yet another case of both harassment and sexual harassment to the list of shitty things Mirika has been guilty of so far. In combination with this, we also get a character who’s possibly the only sane person in the series, Shino who’s finally appeared and demands answers to what’s going on behind the scenes…

Overall, this episode was all kinds of cringe, sometimes in the most comedic ways. There’s probably going to be some drama with Nagisa in the next episode, and Naoya is clearly in quite a predicament. Tricking Rika is easy, but Shino doesn’t seem like the type to just buy into these lies easily. With two episodes left, how could they possibly handle this?
