English Dub Review: Girlfriend, Girlfriend “The Tsun’s Dere Gets Outed”

Overview

Saki tells Naoya that Rika’s apparent crush on him is only the result of her being in heat. She insists that this is a real thing, and Naoya buys it…

Our Take

Once again, Rika proves that she’s the most unpredictable by doing something incredibly unthinkable to Naoya right in front of Saki and Nagisa. I feel so bad for Saki and Nagisa. It must be so annoying to have to deal with some crazy chick who can’t take no for an answer, openly trying to steal their man, and embarrasses (Saki specifically here) them in front of their whole class every day.

There’s no place for Rika to be in this polygamy relationship, YET SHE PERSISTS…her willingness to date Naoya has quite a strong resolve and a declaration of love at that. Back to the gym warehouse to settle their fight, and Rika’s brain is anything but “I’ll give up to make my dream come true.” Even after multiple attempts for Naoya to dissuade Rika. As for Shino, it seems like she’s slowly catching on that Saki’s being two-timed. Now I’m curious to know what Shino thinks about the situation.

Overall, this episode was pure chaos from start to finish in the most comedic ways imaginable. While I do admire Rika for declaring that she wants Naoya all for herself, rather than be part of a three-way relationship. I doubt it’ll ever go that way. I also liked how Saki and Nagisa vowed to not give up with Naoya’s spirited pick-me-up speech, despite what happened earlier and now all of them will be heading off to a hot springs trip. And with 3 episodes left, I remain curious to see how Shino gets involved in this chaotic relationship circus.
