Review: It’s Pony “Comic Connival / Horse on a Hot Tin Roof”

Overview

“Comic Connival”
At Comic Connival, Pony gets Annie’s favorite actress fired…

“Horse on a Hot Tin Roof”
Pony gets jealous when he doesn’t make the cut for a role to a school play that was obviously meant for him…

Our Take

For the first episode, much of the humor comes from misunderstandings and miscommunications when Pony attempts to pitch some weird superhero ideas to a Comic-Con event, and as usual, Pony’s antics tend to have unintended & chaotic consequences for the wacky proceedings that follow when an actress assumes the worst of her career and decides to take matters into her own hands…

As for the 2nd episode, it felt like a not-so-subtle parody of “Phantom of the Opera” only involving Pony seeking revenge and sabotaging a school play over a petty creative decision the director made that despite his massive ego refuses to share his pretentious reasons for why he chose to, and at one point almost goes too far which lead to some hilarious consequences.

Overall, both episodes continue the trend of making Pony the driving force of chaos. And sometimes you can’t help but chuckle at the weird shit that happens, but at the very least it remains mildly entertaining.
