English Dub Review: Odd Taxi “Beware of Borrowed Plumes” “Tanaka’s Revolution”

Overview:

It’s business as usual for privately-owned taxi driver Odokawa as he drives a variety of passengers around the city. He also has a wanted criminal armed with a gun get into his taxi.

Our Take:

I was really excited about this episode because it shows one of my favorite parts. Have you ever heard of capoeira? I guarantee you after this episode you will and you will probably extensively research it because Shirakawa is the undisputed best girl of Odd Taxi.

While Shirakawa is definitely amazing and had some great moments the standout for these two episodes had to be Tanaka. His episode was really great. Full of existential crises and some painfully real moments. Have you ever been stuck in gacha hell? If you have then you will really relate to his character.

Speaking of Tanaka, you need a great voice actor to bring a good character to life. I haven’t gotten confirmation but Tanaka’s VA sounds a lot like Aleks Le. If you read my reviews you will know I am a huge fan of his. He is definitely one of the most talented VA’s. He can use his voice in so many different and unique ways it is always impressive. I am really looking forward to the rest of this show.
