English Dub Review: Heaven Official’s Blessing “Evil Taoist Scourge”
Overview:
Hua willingly jumps into the pit, and Xie Lian follows after him, bringing the Ban Yu general with him. A fight takes place but they eventually decide to work together. There the general recounts the story of the Taoist.
Our Take:
So a couple of negatives first. I really hate cliffhangers and this show has left off on some pretty big ones twice in a row now. With how long the updates for this show have taken it is pretty inconvenient. Also from a technical standpoint, this episode was really dark. I had a hard time telling what was going on almost the entire episode.
The animation still is fantastic, when you can see it that is. Action scenes are animated really well and aren’t hard to figure out what’s going on. I really like the story in this arc, I hope we get to hear more about this “Taoist Scourge” because her story seems interesting. Hua and Xie’s relationship isn’t going anywhere so far but there were a few romantically tense moments in this episode that might get some people’s hearts racing. It was nice to have Heaven Official’s Blessing back even if this wasn’t its strongest episode.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
