English Dub Review: Restaurant to Another World “Scotch Egg/ Mont Blanc”

Overview:

Emilio goes on a journey to prove himself but winds up having lunch with Lucia. Thomas is tasked to find the elusive mont blanc, a rare dessert treat.

Our Take:

This was a really fun and cute episode. I really like how we learn about a different food dish in each episode and it makes me curious to learn more about it. The first dish that was covered was a Scotch Egg which is actually one of my favorite foods. If you’ve never tried it before maybe this episode will give you the courage to try. It is a bit hard to make but it’s definitely worth it.

One thing that makes the food taste even better is the company you share it with. Luckily for Emilio, he gets to dine with the beautiful Lamia, Lucia. Emilio is somewhat of a feminine guy who has been proposed to and hit on by numerous men. While on a journey to gain strength he passed out near a Lamia village which is how he met Lucia and she took him to the restaurant. There they dined on Scotch Eggs.

Speaking of Emilio, he was definitely voiced by Clifford Chapin. He really does a way better job at soft-spoken characters than I would have thought. Between this and The Duke of Death and His Maid, I am beginning to respect him more and more. The guy has a lot more range than I gave him credit for.

The other story was a bit bittersweet. A man named Thomas was tasked with finding an elusive dessert, the mont blanc. The person who usually came to get it was an older woman and it seems she had passed away and Thomas was doing this out of remembrance for her. One other cool little thing is that all the people that meet at the restaurant call each other by the name of their favorite dish. So from now on Thomas will be known as “Mont Blanc” when he visits.
