Our Take

Many of the jokes and characters are somewhat grounded in reality, even if a few are pushed to comedic and sometimes exaggerated proportions. The art is colorful, and the storytelling moves at a brisk pace within the 30 min running time of Nickelodeon utilizing the traditional “2-episode format” along the lines of Cartoon Network shows such as Steven Universe, Regular Show, and Adventure Time.

While the ‘Dark and Stormy Night” episode excelled with delving into the kid’s imaginations with a predictable lesson about how fun doesn’t always have to come from our everyday technology, the heart of “Feast or Family” was about finding common ground between a father and his daughter and finding a compromise that makes both sides happy while keeping things fun.
