THE TEN BEST ANIMATED TELEVISION SHOWS OF 2012: #3 ‘@SOUTHPARK’

As we head into 2013, we look at 2012  and list out the best animated series that came, saw, and didn’t bring any kind of an end to the world. We assure you there are a lot of surprises in this list and without a doubt some controversial entries. But, whether you love, hate, or remain indifferent on which shows should be where, be sure to comment and let us know how YOU feel.

South Park was actually moving down the list of best animated shows of 2012 from its #1 perch at mid-year, but Matt and Trey continue to show who is the class of Comedy Central when we got episodes like ‘Obama Wins and ‘Scause for Applause’. The problem is sometimes we get run of the mill shit like a riff between Cartman and Kyle that kind of makes the writing seem stale at times, but somehow these guys turn on the breakers and BOOM we get the Shining inspired ‘A Nightmare of Face Time’ of which gives us more Randy which in turn gives us more laughs.

So, what’s going to happen next year in South Park?? Well, besides a console game that we hope is still going to get a release, we really don’t know a whole hell of a lot other then the fact that yea the show is returning with new episodes on Comedy Central probably in March or so.  But, in terms of what kind of plots or guest stars?? These guys don’t float that way. South Park after all these years has never needed a guest star to sell an episode, they’ve never needed a team of writers to make it better, the only thing South Park continues to thrive on is your attention.  And from the looks of the ratings, South Park has that in spades.
