Snot’s uncle is a wanna be music act that scopes out Steve and his band tearing up a local club which catches his eye and inspires him to offer the kids a chance to be in a new music video! However like most execs they want their stamp on shit, so he gathers seven more guys to join the band and calls it Boyz 12. The video comes out stupid as shit with every fucking kid getting a line to sing causing it to come out very convoluted and silly. Not only that, it turns out every one of the other kids have something wrong with them and they continue to use that as a basis for their lyrics. However, the band manager gets the call that the label signed a band with FOURTEEN BOYS thereby getting more chefs in the soup or something like that.

Meanwhile, Francine really wants to hang out with Stan but he keeps on wanting to hang out with his bromies. She wants to hang so much that she dresses up as a dude and infiltrates Stan’s get together as Frank from Chicago.  With this new intel, Francine tries to impress Stan so that he can stay home more often to spend time, but he isn’t buying it. Francine’s not gonna give up though, and decides to deploy Frank again so that she can be friends long enough to be BFF’s and then come clean. Avery decides to do some research and he finds out Frank is a fake but can’t prove it yet. Their only option is to kill Frank to avoid any further data leaks. The kill is set up by Avery when he orders Stan and Frank to go on the road to get beer only for Stan to gun butt his supposed bestest pal. Stan then proceeds to beat the shit out of Frank which of course means Francine gets beat up too. The couple makes up alright, but its ok because Jon Hamm is here.

So we had domestic abuse and a suicide in the same episode? Nice…that said Francine got one hell of a beating that was so fucking great. I mean, I’m not gonna lie I have often thought about punching Francine in the mouth so I’m glad Stan did it for me. The plots were pretty standard, but the writers know how to turn up the volume quite a bit and that was displayed well tonight. However, I do think we have gone to the well one too many times in not only Steve’s band but in song and dance episodes in general for American Dad. Already, we had one episode with Hayley singing all over it and now Steve again. NO MAS! Oh yea and Jon Hamm.
