REVIEW: FUGGET ABOUT IT “THE MAN WITH NO ASS”

Spoilers Below

This week’s episode is titled “The Man with No Ass”, cleverly channeling spaghetti western auteur Sergio Leone’s The Man with No Name Trilogy. And the titular cowboy is Jimmy.

The events leading up to his encounter with the cowboy way starts when he is playing lone shark with Gina’s dolls, because Jimmy “misses the action”.

When Gina is busted selling candy on school property (which is prohibited), Jimmy confiscates her candy. Upset that his youngest daughter sees him as a “wash up”, and after getting a taste of the delicious Canadian candy, he and Uncle Cheech devise a plan to smuggle it into the US to sell. This is the first time the series has taken a look at American stereotypes, like gun advertisements on billboards and an American Bald Eagle eating fast food.

As part of their business plan, the ex-mobsters approach Captain Candypants, a rather creepy parody of Willy Wonka, forcing him from their turf with a violent baseball bat beating and recruiting his Oompa-Loompas. When they’re busted by a child wearing a wire, a sting operation by the Food and Delicious Candy Administration (FDCA) stating “You’re under arrest for supplying a weak-willed populace with treats from a different, and therefore, inferior country.” It’s up to McCool to bail them out.

McCool then takes Jimmy to the rodeo (one of the Mounties’ passions) in order to fulfill his less-exciting Canadian life. As far as Jimmy sees the rodeo, it’s just “a bunch of dusty guys trying to put the moves on farm animals.” After a challenge by Jimmy, a wager on honour, since McCool doesn’t gamble with money, the loser must vocally declare the winner is a better man.Jimmy dons assless chaps, which ensue butt load of ass jokes and puns during the many events of the rodeo, which end up in slapstick results.

In the final event, McCool sets a new bull riding world record and is declared “the toughest, most manliest man in the world” by the rodeo announcer. When it’s Jimmy’s turn to ride the bull, he is more than confident. Will he pull it off? Or will he be the “butt” end of more jokes.
