TOM WAITS TO GUEST STAR ON UPCOMING SEASON OF ‘THE SIMPSONS’

Add Tom Waits to the growing list of guest stars for the upcoming 24th Season of The Simpsons set to premier Sept 30th, 2012 on FOX. TVLine.com has the exclusive interview with executive producer Al Jean who talks of the legendary singer’s guest spot:

“We did a lot of research into the ‘prepper’ phenomenon, where people are convinced that some horrible catastrophe – like an electromagnetic pulse – is going to occur, and that people will have to survive without the grid,” he says. So naturally, “Homer becomes a prepper.”

Tom Waits is a very underrated actor and I really enjoyed him in such films as The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and Mystery Men so I am really excited to see what he brings to the pork-chop filled Simpsons table this fall.
