Final Space Creator Throws In Towel On “The Lion’s Blaze”

A few years ago, Final Space creator Olan Rogers had announced The Lion’s Blaze as his next project following Adult Swim’s cancellation of the aforementioned series after three seasons but after eight years of pre-production and no buyers, Olan has opted to throw in the towel on the project…for now.

The affluent creator is setting his sole sights on Godspeed which he officially Kickstarted a couple of years ago and as such doesn’t have much time on so many animation projects at once. Moreover, he is in the final stretches of producing a print adaptation of Final Space that is set to continue the story of the aforementioned series with a release date not having been announced as of yet. Here’s what Olan had to say in a LinkedIn post:

Man, the animation industry these days feels like trying to swim in a pool with no water, and I keep asking myself, “Is it time to get out of the pool?”

I’ll do a deeper dive into this but the animation industry is doing just fine, it’s Hollywood that’s struggling. Your productions aren’t just coming from Los Angeles, California these days, rather they are coming from creators and producers that span the globe including Canada, Australia, France, Japan, and others, so there’s more competition now than ever and cream always rises to the top!

In any event, I’m sure Olan will figure things out sooner than later because he really is a talented producer and has all of the tools to be one of the greats.
