English Dub Review: Berserk of Gluttony “Trap”

Overview:

An excursion to gather materials for gear upgrades leads Fate to a chance encounter with Roxy once more. Powerful monsters seem to be exhibiting unusual behavior, and derelict chimera shells litter the Great Ravine.

Our Take:

This episode was almost perfect when it comes to what I like to see from a romantic subplot. Fate had to rescue Roxy a couple of times and on the last attempt they both fell into a cave. I was thinking “I hope his mask falls off and she sees that its him”. While his mask did fall off, Roxy was unconscious and by the time she woke up he found his mask and put it back on. Fate had been avoiding touching Roxy so he wouldn’t hear her thoughts which I respect. But it was a little disappointing when he to touch her to rescue her and he didn’t hear anything. Perhaps we just didn’t hear them for some reason and he will reveal them later but I doubt it.

Fate seems to believe that Eris is the one trying to kill Roxy. After the conversation they had and seeing her around the chimera’s I can understand why he thinks that but something tells me there is more to this than that. Might be wishful thinking but I hope she’s more than just a villain. Roxy and Fate for life but I would like to Eris be friend more than foe.
