The Simpsons: Tapped Out To Begin End-Of-Life Process

In the television industry we use the word “canceled” in software/live-service gaming we use the term “end-of-life” when referencing the product. Such is the case for EA Sports’ The Simpsons: Tapped Out which will be officially tapping out on October 31st when the game will officially become delisted from all mobile stores and by January 25, 2025 be shut down entirely.

Originally released in 2014, The Simpsons: Tapped Out has accrued over $130 million in revenue utilizing a freemium model that would later be lampooned in episodes of South Park like “Freemium Isn’t Free” and even in The Simpsons’ own “Labor Pains“.

Fortunately for you, if you’re worried that you, a user of The Simpsons: Tapped Out, may not get new content, how about I assuage your worries by reminding you that new episodes of The Simpsons premiere this Sunday Night @ 8 pm ET/PT, only on FOX, check your local listings.
