Report: No New South Park Coming Until 2025

In a new interview with Vanity Faircreators Matt Stone and Trey Parker say don’t expect new episodes (or specials) of South Park until 2025. The producers note that the upcoming election and all of the circus going on with the Paramount acquisition by Skydance are the primary reasons. This helps explain the start date and time for Comedy Central’s Everybody Still Hates Chris! happening on September 25th @ 10 pm ET/PT because typically that’s when premiere episodes of South Park return, just not this year.

It should also be noted that we’ve also had the Spring ’24 releases of South Park: Snow Day! and Paramount+’s excellent South Park: The End of Obesity so South Park should still have enough to gnaw on for now. In the meantime, another South Park-related project is slated to hit theaters September 13th in the form of a Casa Bonita that you can learn more about here.

The hit animated franchise South Park, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, is available on Comedy Central with exclusive events on Paramount+ including SOUTH PARK: POST COVID, SOUTH PARK: POST COVID: THE RETURN OF COVID, SOUTH PARK THE STREAMING WARS, SOUTH PARK THE STREAMING WARS PART 2, SOUTH PARK: JOINING THE PANDERVERSE and the recently released SOUTH PARK (NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN).

Building on MTV Entertainment Studios’ expansive deal with co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, South Park has been renewed on Comedy Central through 2027, taking cable’s longest-running scripted series through an unprecedented 30th season.
