Netflix Announces October 2024 Adult Animation Premieres

Netflix is a busy month for adult animation premieres, specifically in the anime department where we have three series adapted from Japanese manga and one adapted from one of the biggest gaming franchises of all time. We’ve reached out to Netflix to confirm whether or not English dub episodes streaming simultaneously or, at all, when Blue Box and Ranma 1/2 premiere and will update this article once we hear back.

The series focuses on Taiki Inomata, a student at Eimei Junior and Senior High who is a member of the boys’ badminton team. Every morning, he trains alongside his upperclasswoman and fellow crush Chinatsu Kano, who is on the girls’ basketball team. However, Chinatsu moves in with Taiki’s family when her parents leave Japan to work abroad. With Chinatsu now living with him, Taiki aims to slowly develop his relationship with her as they both strive to make it to the national championship with their respective teams.

The action comedy series follows a teenager named Ranma Saotome who has trained in martial arts since early childhood. As a result of an accident during a training journey, he is cursed to become a girl when exposed to cold water, while hot water changes him back into a boy. Throughout the series Ranma seeks out a way to rid himself of his curse, while his friends, enemies, and many fiancées constantly hinder and interfere.

The animated series TOMB RAIDER: THE LEGEND OF LARA CROFT picks up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy (Tomb Raider; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Shadow of the Tomb Raider), and will chart the globetrotting heroine’s next chapter as the iconic adventurer. More than 25 years after her first appearance, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) continues to explore ancient mysteries and uncover lost truths across breathtaking and dangerous.

Focusing on the European front of the One Year War, which was the setting of the first Gundam series “Mobile Suit Gundam” (1979), the new animated series “Mobile Suit Gundam: Requem for Vengeance” is a joint production with SAFEHOUSE, Inc. that is made with Unreal Engine 5 and aimed at audiences worldwide. The series will stream only on Netflix.
