English Dub Review: Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? “The Prophet of This World”

Overview

Guided by a mysterious voice, Kai, Rinne, and Jeanne enter Megalith. Awaiting them at the end is a stone statue of The Prophetic God Arsla Solaka. Kai is confused as he thought the Prophetic God was nothing more than a legend.

Our Take

The latest episode introduced the prophetic goddess, which seemed like it would answer many questions, but left much still unexplained. Despite being an all-knowing deity, she appears unaware of key concepts like world reincarnation or the mysterious “last riser.” On the plus side, Jeanne stepping into the hero role feels fitting, as she has a stronger connection to this world than Kai does. It’s also intriguing how her relationship with Kai seems to be echoing events from the original timeline, emphasizing that some bonds transcend time and circumstance.

However, it feels odd that the group hasn’t fully welcomed Reiren into their inner circle, especially since she’s been a trusted ally on their journey. Leaving her out of key information learned at the temple seems like a missed opportunity, and it could impact their chances of success. On the other hand, the introduction of Balmung from the Yulun Federation offers a fresh perspective and balance, especially when compared to Dante’s unpleasant demeanor. Balmung’s grounded nature and the potential for more alliances could lead to interesting developments ahead.

Overall, while the episode raised more questions than it answered, it still delivered exciting moments, particularly with Jeanne’s evolving role as a hero. The world-building continues to impress, and the episode sets the stage for future confrontations, especially with two episodes left as I’m eager for what’s next and how they could wrap this up.
