English Dub Review: VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream “Episode 7”

Overview

Awayuki runs into Kaeru at the Live-On office, learns more about her past, and one thing leads to another… namely a collab with Kaeru and an amusement park visit with Chami…

Our Take

This time around, we get a delightful mix of humor and heart, centered around Awayuki and her interactions with the younger VTubers. Despite starting with Kaeru’s “Adult Baby” which goes from awkwardly weird to an unexpectedly wholesome moment between the two. Awayuki continues to shine as both an admired figure and a relatable mentor, especially in her interactions with Kaeru. Despite Kaeru’s eccentricities and job-hunting anxieties, her deep admiration for Awayuki is evident, and their collaboration brings out the best in both characters.

Later on, the amusement park date with Chami added another layer of fun and character development. Chami’s struggles with social anxiety were handled with care, and her time with Awayuki at Fuji-Q Highland showed her stepping out of her comfort zone, making for a touching and enjoyable segment. Awayuki’s role as a supportive senpai was on full display, as she helped Chami relax and enjoy the day despite her initial reservations.

Overall, this episode continues to highlight the wacky and bizarre character dynamics and the show’s ability to blend humor with meaningful moments. The chemistry between the characters, whether through outrageous comical scenarios or quietly wholesome moments, kept things consistent and somewhat grounded in reality contrast to the Vtubers who are mostly represented as animated avatars that easily stand out. And given the unpredictable nature of this series, there’s no telling where this could go next and I look forward to seeing more!
