Overview (Spoilers Below): Shion is now formally dating the ex-film club president, Rei.  Shion has high expectations for the relationship, but Rei keeps disappointing.  However, when Shion gets into an argument with his roommate, Rei invites him over to spend the night in his room.

Our Take: Thanks to the other film club members, Shion and Rei are in a relationship.  Well, sort of. This is only the first phase in Shion’s attempt to make Rei his official boyfriend.  Unsurprisingly, things have already gotten off to a rocky start due to Shion always setting up for disappointment.  He was hoping that everything he learned from romance would happen to him, but they wind up being the exact opposite.  There’s also the matter of his roommate, Kirito, who reveals that he joined the film club to film music videos after hearing that Ichikawa’s crew is filming one.  However, the crew wanted Shion instead, causing a minor dispute between him and Kirito, but there is a silver lining to that.  Shion gets to spend some more time with Rei in his dorm room. The first two arcs centered around two characters either avoiding falling in love or hiding it through their rivalry, but they didn’t have much of a conflict to make them interesting besides the Yaoi moments.  However, this episode shows that this final arc may have a shot of doing so.  This is mainly due to Shion, who only cares about him having a boyfriend.  But, after an argument with Kirito, he opened his eyes to see that he should learn to reach out more to people and even give filmmaking a shot.  One of the crucial things of love is learning to love others instead of just one.  The question now is whether it’ll be enough for Shion to realize the true meaning of love.
