English Dub Review: Tower of God “Mazino Magic”

Overview:

The battle against Urek continues in Zygaena. The stakes in a deadly game between Urek and Viole are Zygaena’s flower. But then, everything takes an unexpected turn.

Our Take:

I remember Urek being one of my favorite characters and this episode reminded me why. He’s your typical “I love to fight” character. He’s strong and knows it, so Viole managed to take one of his attacks and not die gained him a lot of respect. There was a controversy when it came to Zygaena because it turns out the flowers that everyone is picking from there can grow into another Zygaena. That wouldn’t be good for the people who want there to be less of the flowers to sell them for a high price. I can’t quite remember but I think Urek might be a good guy.

Someone else who is nicer than I think they want to let on is Ha Jinsung, the guy who trained Viole to fight. He gives off the vibe that he would kill all of Viole’s new teammates if he has to but I think he respects Viole more than he would admit. I’m enjoying the character growth I’m seeing in this arc, nothing is happening fast but steady. Yeon is another character that I think has shown a new side to herself in this episode by trying to cook for everyone. Unfortunately, she’s better at burning the food than making it edible.
