English Dub Review: SHY “Because of Love”

Overview:

Shy, Piltz, and Ai are beset by another member of Amarariruku. She captures Ai, intent on delivering her to her sister, and wields the power of love against Shy and Piltz. Atop the tower, Mai waits for the long-awaited confrontation.

Our Take:

The episode wants you to focus on everything happening with Shy, Piltz, and Ai but I was more interested in what Pepesha was doing. She decided to stay behind and take on Kufufu, who I spoke about last week, and that takes some guts. What I appreciated was how she managed to calm down one of the craziest characters in the series. Kufufu is always smiling that creepy smile, she reminds me a lot of the Joker in that regard, so when she stopped smiling I thought a big fight was going to happen. Turns out she and Pepesha decided to sit down and have a heart-to-heart, I wonder how that’s going to end.

I wasn’t wondering what was gonna happen between Ai and Mai. But to say their long-awaited reunion fell flat would be an understatement. To be clear I don’t mean that in a bad way, it was funny to see them reach the top of the tower only to catch Mai in the middle of a tea break. I think we’re about to reach the climax of the season and I hope it doesn’t disappoint.
